Volunteer Update, April 2021

May 5, 2021

Hello everyone. This month, we announced our new PERMANENT HOME at All Souls Community Church! We are so blessed to be welcomed by All Souls Community Church (ASCC)! The Church leadership and members are not only supportive, but many have come to join our volunteer base. The joining of new and return of so many dedicated volunteers supporting our work toward the goal of giving and providing to our community is invigorating.

The United Methodist Church in Sloatsburg will always be close to our hearts, but it was necessary to move to a larger space allowing for more expansion opportunities.

Currently, we are moving along with the planning phase of possible construction to the stage and kitchen area at ASCC. We will keep everyone appraised on the project as milestones are set and met. We hope to be inside with our Pantry by Thanksgiving. Please feel free to ask anyone on the Board for more details on the plans.

For the short-term, we have purchased two new large tents to add shade to the driveway during our distributions. These were very helpful during our last distribution.

Lastly, I would like to share a few stats below comparing January – April from 2018 to 2021. I share this to show the impact all of your efforts have made on the community.

We provide a minimum of 9 meals per person for each family member.

Since COVID-19, the number of individuals we have been able to help has grown exponentially.

In May, we will be open on the 12th for Fresh Express and the 26th for our Traditional opening. We will mostly likely continue with distributions twice a month (2nd and 4th Wednesday) until we move indoors and reassess.

Thank you for all you do, not only for the Pantry, but in all your efforts!

Please stay safe and I hope to see each of you soon.

Regards,

Joyce
