Volunteer Message, Close of 2020

January 3, 2021

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2021, everyone. I hope this year brings you and your family health and happiness. As we continue to wade through the impacts of COVID, I would like to give you all a virtual hug for your support of the Pantry.

Thanks to you and the generosity of our donors, we have been able to consistently meet the growing needs of our community. It is tragic how much this virus has impacted all of us, but by standing together, we are and will get through this.

Here is a view of how many we were able to help in 2020. While being saddened by the growing need, I am proud at all we have accomplished together.

As you know, we were open for one distribution in December at All Souls Community Church in Suffern. We were very lucky to meet quite a few congregation members who volunteered to help throughout the month.

The space within the Fellowship Hall accommodated our preparation work of pre-packing 400 bags and boxes with more than 15,000 pounds of food. The distribution was an outdoor drive-thru down Oliver Street which allowed for one-way traffic (thanks to the Suffern PD and Mayor). We were even able to close up shop before the snow started.

We are blessed to be able to use the space again for our January 20th and February 24th distributions.

Once again, I am humbled by your generosity, our community and the gratitude we see on every face that pulls up to our distribution.

Stay warm and well.

Regards,

Joyce
