Volunteer Update, July 2021

July 28, 2021

Good morning. I am writing today to give you, our faithful volunteers, a sneak peek at the exciting things that are coming our way! As you know, our move to All Souls has been a blessing. We have been gifted with new friends, volunteers and a welcoming space. The Church has also generously offered us dedicated space in response to our prayers.

As a result, we have been planning a renovation project. Our architecture plans and permit were just approved by the Village of Suffern AND we have selected a contractor. The timeline is being worked on, but suffice it to say, work should begin soon.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to give you a sneak peek at our plans. In summary, the project has two major components.

·       Build-out a client choice pantry. This will allow families to come indoors, select the food they prefer, allowing for dietary restrictions and enabling us to provide additional community resources.

·       Installation of a walk-in refrigerator and freezer. This equipment will allow us to safely and adequately store fresh produce, lean meats and dairy on-site.

We have prepared a short video announcing the project which you can view here. And we have additional information on our website.

Coming next, we will be organizing fundraising activities. We will be reaching out to you to spread the word and help us achieve our fundraising goal of $200,000!

I hope you feel the same excitement as I do! This renovation will be a tremendous benefit to our neighbors. Support from you and the community will be critical in our success. I thank you for all of your help and am honored to begin this journey with all of you.

More information will come soon. If you would like to help with fundraising efforts, please let Susan or myself know.

Stay safe everyone!

Respectfully yours,

Joyce
